Presenting the seminar titled "Mormonism, Christianity, & Me"
|
The primary vehicle Brad Melton Ministries uses to restore families, renew the church, and impact the culture for Christ is by teaching seminars to Christian groups. All seminars utilize PowerPoint, make life application, last about two hours each, and are easily modified to meet time constraints and audience needs. The following seminars are currently available ( * - signifies titles that feature sample videos) :
FAMILY MINISTRY SEMINARS
THE PROBLEM: Only 9% of Born Again teenagers believe in absolute truth and 70% to 90% of children from evangelical homes leave the faith within two years of high school graduation.
THE PLAN: Join Brad, a former Youth and College pastor of five years and a father of three, as he explains what’s wrong with the status quo, evaluates the competition for our children’s souls, teaches what the Bible says about families and raising children in the faith, and equips parents by providing them with an intentional and biblical family-based evangelism and disciple-making plan to make HOME-GROWN DISCIPLES!

The Bible says that men and women are equal in worth before God and yet they are also divinely designed to serve different roles. In this seminar, Brad faithfully examines and makes application from the biblical texts on what it means to be a man. He concludes by rejecting the effeminized modern man, the overgrown man-child, and the autocratic dictator in favor of the biblical model of men as strong, Godly leaders in the family and in the church.
The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, therefore, education must begin with God! The application of Christian home education not only imparts a Biblical message, but it also uses the method prescribed in Scripture (Deut. 6) for discipling the next generation! This seminar is a must for parents who are thinking about home schooling and need to catch the vision as well as a great reminder for parents already in the trenches that need encouragement.
Every Christian family can give honor and glory to God daily through the practice of Family Worship. This session provides a foundation for why and how parents can lead family worship in their homes. Topics to be discussed include singing, Bible reading, life application, catechism, prayer, and special activities.
Jennifer Melton, a current homeschool mom and former teacher and administrator for a leading virtual school, answers the questions: What is really behind the “school-at-home” program? Is it really the same as homeschooling? Are there costs that have not been factored in? What element is missing and will aggressively be kept out in these programs? Who is being invited into your home when you sign up for one of these virtual schools? What risks are associated with your child’s participation? Which is superior?
We live in a nation founded by those who held a Biblical Worldview and our most cherished freedoms come from this Christian heritage. Sadly, many in our nation are using the very freedoms that came from this Christian heritage to destroy the influence of the one and only faith that can preserve these liberties. Consequently, America has degenerated into a nation where our children are indoctrinated by the secular state, where the least of these are not protected, where sexual immorality runs rampant, where idolatry is the norm, and where the church has become anemic and ineffective. In this seminar, believers will learn what they can do to recover our nation’s Godly heritage one family at a time.
APOLOGETICS SEMINARS
In this multi-media seminar, Brad explains who the Mormons are culturally and historically, shares his own deeply personal journey into and out of Mormonism, compares several Mormon and Christian doctrines (God, Jesus, Salvation, Priesthood, Scripture), exposes what takes place in secret temple ceremonies, provides a first- hand look at Mormon garments and temple clothing, explains why Christians convert to Mormonism and the reality of life on the inside, explores major challenges to Mormonism, and equips Christians to more effectively witness to Mormons. This seminar is intended to educate and equip Christians and is not an effective outreach to Mormons.

After experiencing life in a cult and fighting for orthodoxy within a liberal denomination, Brad knows first-hand that the Truth of God matters and that it is critically important for Christians to trust in and defend the Bible as the inspired, sufficient, and inerrant Word of God. In this seminar, he lays a solid foundation for a belief in Biblical Authority, which refutes many of the false presuppositions held by cult members, liberal Christians, and the secular culture. The Bible is the final arbiter in all matters of life and faith, and the practical application of this belief is a Biblical Worldview and a powerful incarnational witness to a watching world.

Do you have to check your brain at the door to believe in God? That’s certainly the message many in the culture are sending to Christians these days. In this seminar, Brad explains that both Christians and atheists hold to presuppositions about the nature of reality, however, atheists set themselves up as being independent judges of truth when demanding proof, but they are neither neutral nor objective about what evidence they will accept. At the same time, atheists are inconsistent because they cannot provide a clear and coherent explanation for the universe that does not borrow from the Christian worldview. Brad points out some of the scientific, existential, and other philosophical problems with atheism and provides five cogent arguments for God’s existence.

Our culture is full of bankrupt philosophies such as “truth is relative” and “all religions lead to the same God.” Unfortunately, many Christians have bought into these lies because they have never stopped to examine their own assumptions to see if they are Biblical or even if they are rational. In this seminar, Brad seeks to eradicate moral relativism and religious pluralism from the church. He begins by explaining the differences between cultural and individual relativism, lays out some of the major challenges confronting moral relativists, examines how moral relativism has adversely impacted our culture, and concludes with ideas for refuting it. Brad also argues that Jesus is the only way to salvation and points out the problems inherent within competing viewpoints. In addition, Jesus and the precepts of Biblical Christianity are compared with the founders and precepts of the other world religions.
Was Jesus just a great moral teacher? Did Jesus really die on the cross and rise from the dead? Did He even exist? Secular scholars aided by a willing liberal media are openly attacking all of the supernatual aspects of Jesus’ life and ministry in an effort to paint the Savior as a radical first-century Jew who was executed by Rome and later mythologized by his followers. Many others say that Jesus was simply a good moral teacher, but deny his divinity. Fortunately, Jesus did not give us that option. No, Jesus of Nazareth was either a liar, a legend, a lunatic, or the Lord. In this seminar, Brad answers that question by demonstrating that Jesus was who He said He was: the Christ (Mark 8:29).
