MissionA Christian minister, writer, and popular conference speaker, Brad Melton is the founder and executive director of Brad Melton Ministries, which is a Biblical Worldview ministry that specializes in Family Ministry, Christian Apologetics, and Mormonism. Brad Melton Ministries works with and is endorsed by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and other evangelical groups.
Background
Originally unchurched and later a nominal Christian, Brad joined Mormonism as a teenager, participated in temple ceremonies at three LDS temples, and went on a mission to Argentina before leaving Mormonism in his mid twenties. Like many jaded ex-Mormons, Brad became an atheist and later an agnostic. After trusting in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in June 2000, Brad served as a Youth and College Pastor from 2001 to 2005 and then launched a full-time speaking ministry in 2005 at the urging of other ministry leaders.
Family Life
Brad and Jennifer met at a Mormon dance in 1994, they left Mormonism together, and married in 1996. They are blessed with three children. Family worship, catechism, and Christian homeschooling are integral parts of the Meltons’ intentional plan to evangelize and disciple their children in the Christian faith. The family enjoys outdoor games, board games, swimming, gardening, orcharding, wrestling, reading, arts and crafts, and road trips.
Education
Brad is an ordained minister who holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies (Liberty Theological Seminary), a certificate in Christian Apologetics (Biola University), a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication (Prescott College), and he completed graduate studies in book publishing and public history (Arizona State University). Brad is a Certified Apologetics Instructor for the North American Mission Board.
Book and Magazine Publishing
Before taking a leap of faith into full-time ministry, Brad worked as the editor of Northland Publishing, editor of Arizona Style magazine, assistant editor of Documentary Editing, and various positions at Arizona Highways magazine. He is also the co-editor and a contributing writer to the Southwest Book Award-winning Arizona Goes to War: The Home Front and the Front Lines During World War II,which includes a foreword by U.S. Senator John McCain. Brad is now writing a few books based on his seminars in order to advance the cause of Christ in the world.
