A recent article in Newsweek, “The End of Christian America,” stated that the number of self-professing Christians in the U.S. has dropped from 86% in 1990 to 76% in 2008 while the number of those holding no belief has almost doubled from 8 to 15%. Unfortunately, there is no indication that this trend is going to stop and, in fact, it is likely that it is going to speed up. Why?
- Studies indicate that 70 to 88% of children raised in Christian homes leave the faith within two years of high school graduation and do not return.
- Only one-half of one percent of the Mosaic Generation—those aged 18 to 23 (born between 1984 and 2002)—have a biblical worldview, whereas one in nine older adults have a Biblical Worldview.
- Evangelical congregations in America do not have an intentional plan in place (that actually works) to change the direction of our nation. Instead, we keep doing what we are doing and expecting different results, which is a working definition for insanity.
Brad Melton Ministries is a non-profit, evangelical ministry that exists “to Restore the Family, Renew the Church, and Impact the Culture for Christ through Biblical World-and-Life View Education and Christian Apologetics.”
We believe that as the family goes, so goes the church, and so goes the nation. American Culture is drifting further from God every day and this is primarily a result of a decreased understanding of and reliance on Biblical Authority by believers and the failure of Christian parents to intentionally raise their children in the faith.
Therefore, we seek to achieve our strategic mission by teaching seminars & conferences and producing and distributing a variety of resources for Christian audiences. Blessed with the ability to effectively teach these seminars to groups ranging in age from middle school through senior adults, Brad is available to teach nationwide.
